Folding Knife
Client: Bergkvist, Germany
A unique folding knife, designed for the Bergkvist brand. The knife has a wooden and steel handle and comes in two editions. This survival knife has a belt cutter and glass breaker at the end of the handle.
Multiple prototypes were produced by the factory. I provided the necessary feedback in order to ensure the correct production of the knife.
The folding knife was awarded the Bronze A’ Design Award in 2021 in the Hardware, Power and Hand Tools Design Category.
The knife has an ergonomic handle. In its folded state, the belt cutter and glass breaker are ready for immediate use.
It comes in two editions: grey steel with olive wood and black steel with bocote.
A thumb stud and flipper make it easy to open the knife single handedly. I also designed an award-winning series of packagings for these and other knives from the same brand.
The design has been registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
