Delineator Post
Client: Tecnobalizas, Uruguay
With Tecnobalizas, I created a redesign of their traffic delineator post. The post meets requirements from the company, as well as European UNE EN standards. It has a heavy hexagonal base that keeps it from falling and rolling over. The base has large rounded corners in order to prevent injuries. Both the bollards and the bases have handles for easy transportation.
The main body was designed for the blow molding process. Form restrictions dictated by the manufacturing techniques had to be taken into account in order to make it feasible for mass production.
The delineator post features innovative technologies of Technobalizas with which delineator posts can accept commands issued remotely, like turning off/on, flash in sequence, etc. The power for the LED lights and IoT components is generated by a solar panel on top of the product.
During the project, I created designs and CAD files for the delineator post. The files were used for the creation of prototypes and molds for mass production.
