Magnetic Base
Client: FireBoard Labs, USA
With the company FireBoard Labs, I designed a base that adds extra functionality to the FireBoard 2 (which I designed with them as well). The FireBoard 2 is a smart thermometer that measures and shows data of up to 6 thermometer probes at once. The magnetic base is now available on the FireBoard website where you can find the FireBoard 2 as well.
The base stands on itself on flat surfaces. It has a non-slip bottom for a secure stance. It follows the form language that was used for the FireBoard 2 for a cohesive whole.
The base sticks to ferrous metal surfaces and can be set under two different angles.
The base is lightweight and holds the FireBoard 2 firmly in place, even on vertical surfaces.
The displayed information automatically rotates, so that the right side is up independent of how the FireBoard 2 is oriented.
The FireBoard 2 buttons and connectors are all accessible, independent of how the thermometer is placed in the base.
